I saw the Daisy Quilt on your website and loved it.
I wanted to do one with pictures in the blocks so I used the Daisy Quilt
and ordered the 5 x 7 but I changed the size and made them bigger as I
had bought a new Brother machine and could have ordered the 6 x 10.
I then used Quilt 4 for the picture blocks and I ordered the 6 X 10 of
that.
I printed Elizabeth's pictures on the fabric sheets that are made for
printers in the size I needed to go in the center square.
For the daisy borders, I figured up the length of the sides and bottom
and divided by the width of the daisy border pieces.
Then if it came out to 10.6, I would divide again by 10 to see what
width I needed to make the border pieces come out even.
The top was bordered with the scallops that are in the Quilt 4 6 x 10
package.
I sized them too, the same way as the daisy border.
I learned that the edge joining foot on my Designer 1 was the best way
to join the blocks. I used the same thread in the bobbin as I used on
top.
It took me 4 or 5 months but I have a large family and I have to take
care of several of them and visit with the others a lot.
It was such fun to make and now I'm going to get on some placemats that
I am making for gifts for Christmas.
This is such a clever way to do quilts and I am so glad I found your
website and your wonderful designs.
Thank you,
Joyce
