I am proud as punch of Denis
(my husband). and I know everyday how lucky I am.
It is only my pleasure to share the specs of the cotton cabinet with
you.
My Cotton cabinet is made for Marathon thread (1000m cones) , I have 17
rows down and 20 rows across = 340 spools -
but you can apply it to any other make as well.
just make sure that the dowels are placed further apart if your cones
are larger.
The dowel sticks diameter and length is a personal preference. Mine is
the
length of my cone + the 2 cm it will get sunk into the board.
The dowels are +- 4.5 cm to 5 cm apart.
A larger hole gets drilled in each corner ( +- two and a half rows in
and
down (up) ) - they are for the screws that will fix the cabinet to the
wall.
The board would be 30 and 1/4 inches by 39 1/4 inches
the black - around the rectangle represents the wood - 2 cm thick and 12
cm
wide(depth) -if your cones are longer - increase the depth.
there is a centre (bar) that has door catches on each side - where the
doors
click into.
The door frames are 1.5 inches wide and 2cm thick. the inside has a
piece
routed out, for the glass to fit into.
size of finished door frames - 32 inches height x 20.3 inches wide
Hope this helps you - let me know if I have left something out.
